Kevin Pillar followed next and he doubled resulting in a run. Joe Panik then ripped a base-knock scoring the final run of the inning. Colorado had a total of 8 hits for the game. Although losing the contest, he whiffed 8 batters in 5 innings. Washington won the game with a rally in the 9th inning plating 3 runs using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Cooper got things rolling when he drew a walk. Starlin Castro stepped into the batter's box and he delivered a one-base hit. After another out, Alex Colome was wild with a pitch. Victor Robles was up next and he lofted a three-run bomb giving Washington the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Atlanta was out-hit by Washington, 10 hits to 7.
