In a game at Great American Bpk the Cincinnati Reds tallied 7 runs in the 8th
inning and got by the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 9 to 6.
Cincinnati bats came alive with a big 8th inning as they ripped Baltimore for
7 runs on 5 hits. The highlight belonged to J.D. Martinez who elicited a
roar from the hometown fans when he clubbed a two-run home run. Baltimore
was not lacking for run support as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet
victory eluded them as they seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to
win ballgames.
The victory was credited to Joe Kelly(3-4) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. Felipe Vazquez was credited with his 21st save. Mychal Givens(3-6)
suffered the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk in 1/3 of an
inning.

shutout the San Francisco Giants 5 to 0.
San Francisco was unable to recover after Chicago (NL) went ahead in the
bottom of the 2nd inning scoring a single run using 3 hits. Chicago (NL) had
14 hits for the afternoon while San Francisco had 3.
T.J. Zeuch earned his 3rd save. The losing pitcher was Shaun Anderson(5-9).
Chicago (NL) knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 5 runs in 4 and 1/3
innings.

as the very talented Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Milwaukee Brewers by a

Heaney(9-2) pitched a solid game. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 3
hits and 5 walks in 7 innings. Pittsburgh had 10 hits overall, while
Milwaukee had 7.
Yonny Chirinos(9-16) was charged with the loss. 'Everything felt great' Heaney
said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.'

The Washington Nationals cruised to a 10 to 5 victory over the Atlanta Braves
at Nationals Park.
Starlin Castro had a good evening at the plate. He lined a base-hit which
brought home a run in the 1st inning, doubled bringing home two baserunners
in the 2nd inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 4th inning. Washington
finished with 13 hits while Atlanta ended up with 7.
The victory went to Alex Young(7-3) who went 7 innings, allowing 5 runs. Kyle
Hendricks(13-7) was given the loss. He surrendered 6 runs and 6 hits in 2/3
of an inning.

Hunter Dozier rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Toronto Blue Jays
bested the Detroit Tigers 9 to 4 at Rogers Centre.
It was a good day for Toronto thanks to Dozier. He cracked a two-run shot in
the 3rd inning, delivered a solo blast in the 6th inning and doubled in the
7th inning. Toronto ended up with 12 hits for the game while Detroit had 8.
Trent Thornton(11-6) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Jaime
Barria(2-10) was the losing pitcher. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 5
innings.

Khris Davis smacked 2 homeruns as the Boston Red Sox outscored the New York
(AL) Yankees 13 to 10.
Davis was spectacular at the plate. The hometown fans showed their
appreciation with a standing ovation his last time at bat. He stroked a
one-base hit in the 3rd inning, emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun
in the 5th inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 7th
inning. Although they lost, New York (AL) did out-hit Boston 15 to 10.
John Gant(6-3) got the win allowing 4 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Heath Hembree
recorded the save, his 1st. Victor Alcantara(7-4) ended up with the loss in
relief.

J.T. Realmuto hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI as the Colorado Rockies defeated the
hopeless New York (NL) Mets by the score of 8 to 5 at Citi Field.
Colorado erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 8th inning with
3 runs utilizing 4 base hits. Jorge Soler led off the inning for Colorado
when he doubled. Realmuto followed and he doubled which scored a run. Kevin
Pillar then doubled scoring another run. Joe Panik followed next and he
ripped a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. Colorado finished
with 12 hits in the victory.
Steven Brault(8-8) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 7 innings. Scott Oberg
gained credit for his 27th save. Robert Gsellman(5-5) took the loss in
relief. He was hit hard and gave up 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings.

Brad Hand recorded his 27th save. Jeff Samardzija(9-11) was hit with the

Framber Valdez(5-4) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory. He

Miami for the game, 11 hits to 8.
Valdez got help from Josh James who earned his 16th save. Nick Wittgren(4-7)
absorbed the loss in relief. With this win, Houston has a 44-95 record.
They have been 7-3 lately. Miami can't seem to snap out of their recent
'funk'. Now they have a miserable 1-9 record over the last couple weeks.

Freeland was helped out by Luis Perdomo who recorded his 1st save. Lance
Lynn(16-3) took the loss. 'Some losses are harder to take than others'
Seattle's manager lamented after the game. 'This was one of them.'

Jimenez had a great evening at the plate. He ripped a solo home run in the
1st inning, blasted a two-run home run in the 3rd inning and lofted a
solo-blast 'downtown' in the 5th inning. Arizona kept the scorekeepers busy
in the 7th inning with 5 runs on 5 hits. Arizona out-hit Los Angeles(NL) for
the game, 16 hits to 10.
Julio Teheran(14-7) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Dan
Straily(2-12) suffered the loss. He served up 4 homeruns in his 4 innings.
'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park tonight,' Jimenez said. 'I'm
glad I decided to play!'

Texas was unable to claim the lead after Los Angeles(AL) went ahead in the
bottom of the 7th inning when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits. The crucial
at-bat was provided by Shohei Ohtani who brought a roar from the partisan
Angel Stadium fans when he cracked a two-run shot. Los Angeles(AL) had 13
hits for the game and Texas had 9.
Kyle Crick(4-3) was the winner allowing no runs in 3 and 2/3 innings. Tyler
Chatwood(7-6) suffered the loss in relief. He allowed 1 hit and no walks in
2/3 of an inning.

Kansas City found themselves trailing quickly as the Oakland bats came through
in the first inning when they came up with 4 runs on 4 hits. The critical
plate appearance was by Gio Urshela who brought the crowd to their feet when
he doubled plating two runs. Oakland had a total of 11 hits for the game.
Sonny Gray(16-4) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.
Trevor May recorded his 5th save. Clayton Richard(2-4) was the losing
pitcher.
The Oakland ballclub's record now stands at 91-48. Kansas City can't seem to
snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over

The pitchers took over after the 1st inning as neither team was able to score
again.
