The Houston fans enjoyed the offense provided by Hernandez. He lofted a
three-run bomb in the 2nd inning and cracked a solo homerun in the 7th
inning. Miami had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
Framber Valdez(4-4) allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Jose Urquidy recorded the save, his 3rd. The loss was charged to

Athletics topped the Kansas City Royals by the slimmest of margins, 7 to
6.
Oakland came up with 4 runs in the 4th inning. The biggest moment was
provided by Nick Ahmed who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he
tripled bringing home two baserunners. Kansas City threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.
David Hale(2-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing 1
run. Hale got relief help from Hansel Robles who gained credit for his 30th
save. Zack Godley(3-12) was the loser. He was knocked around, surrendering
4 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.

plate appearance was by Will Smith who thrilled the crowd when he belted a
three-run homer. Cincinnati had 8 hits overall, while Baltimore had 4.
The win was credited to Frankie Montas(11-1) who went 8 innings allowing 2
runs. Yusei Kikuchi(6-13) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around
pretty good, giving up 6 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Max Kepler touched them all and had 4 RBI as the amazing Pittsburgh Pirates
crushed the Milwaukee Brewers 12 to 2.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Kepler. He doubled plating a run in the 1st inning and rifled a
three-run blast in the 6th inning. Pittsburgh ended up with 17 hits for the
game while Milwaukee had 7.
Chris Bassitt(18-5) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Chris
Stratton(0-2) was given the loss. He pitched 4 innings and surrendered 6
hits and 1 walk.
This win by Pittsburgh continues their recent hot streak. In their last ten
games, they have a record of 9-1. For the season, they are 87-52. With this
loss, Milwaukee has a 4-6 record of late, 57-81, worst in the division
overall.

innings and surrendered 2 homeruns. Atlanta out-hit Washington for the game,
15 hits to 7.
Lucas Giolito(7-9) suffered the loss. He served up 4 homeruns in his 4 and
2/3 innings. Washington's manager was impressed with Corbin and his 12
strikeouts. 'It's tough to generate runs if you can't make contact with the
ball.'

Matt Chapman smacked 2 homeruns and scored 3 times at Rogers Centre as the
powerful Toronto Blue Jays came back dramatically to top the Detroit Tigers
by the score of 9 to 7.
Toronto won the game with a rally in the 9th inning plating 3 runs utilizing 2
base hits. After an out was recorded, Wil Myers began the rally when he
laced a base-knock. Chapman stepped up next and he drew a walk. Anthony
Santander then launched a three-run homer resulting in an exciting win for
Toronto and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Toronto
totaled 13 hits on the night.
Jose Cisnero(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 3 and 1/3
innings. Joe Jimenez(4-4) was the loser in relief. 'Wow, that was fun!',
Cisnero said following the game. 'Once in a while you play a game that
reminds you just why you got into this business to begin with!'

Yu Darvish racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts and Ketel Marte
launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the very talented Tampa Bay Rays
defeated the Chicago (AL) White Sox by the score of 12 to 8 at Tropicana
Field.
It was a good day for Tampa Bay thanks to Marte. He laced a single in the 1st
inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 7th inning and ripped a solo home
run in the 8th inning. Tampa Bay rapped out 11 hits for the night.
The victory went to David Phelps(2-2) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Taylor Rogers(4-5) suffered the loss in relief. By surrending 12 runs
in 6 and 1/3 innings his ERA jumped from 2.64 to 3.68.

They would be enough to earn the win. Boston finished with 11 hits while New
York (AL) ended up with 7.

allowing 3 runs. Andrew Miller preserved the game for Sparkman, recording his

With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs,
New York (NL) Mets rallied to top Colorado Rockies by the score of 2 to

Kahnle(2-4) absorbed the loss in relief. New York (NL)'s manager was all
smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while,
but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us
