Bradley Jr enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He doubled emptying the bases

and slapped a one-base hit in the 7th inning. Arizona finished with 16 hits
while Pittsburgh ended up with 7.

Robbie Ray dominated striking out 11 San Francisco batters at Citizens Bank
Park as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the hapless San Francisco Giants 3 to
2.
Ray(6-5) delivered a fine performance for Philadelphia. He went 5 innings and
surrended up 5 hits and 2 walks. Philadelphia totaled 7 hits on the night.
Ray got relief help from Brad Hand who gained credit for his 21st save. Asher
Wojciechowski(4-12) suffered the loss. Despite the loss, he struckout 8
Philadelphia batters in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Ray - except San Francisco. San
Francisco's manager lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our
guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes
it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'

At Marlins Park, the Miami fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Charlie
Morton(10-5) finally bested his Miami opposite, Chris Paddack(6-12), by the
score of 2 to 1.
Morton pitched well for Atlanta in their victory. He went 5 and 2/3 innings
allowing 6 hits and 2 walks. Neither team managed to score after the 3rd
inning.
Alex Colome recorded the save, his 19th. Paddack took the loss. He gave up
just 2 runs and 4 hits in 7 innings. 'I didn't have my best stuff but
sometimes you just get lucky,' Morton said, 'this was one of those times.'

Jose Altuve ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the very strong Tampa Bay Rays
bested the Boston Red Sox 6 to 4 at Tropicana Field.
It was a good day for Tampa Bay thanks to Altuve. He ripped a solo home run
in the 4th inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 5th
inning. Tampa Bay had only 6 hits for the night.
Amir Garrett(5-0) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Trevor Gott got
the save, his 11th. Heath Hembree(1-2) was hit with the loss in relief.
Wth the win Tampa Bay now has a record of a division leading 72-43. Boston
has a record of 46-70 after the loss.

German Marquez(11-6), with relief help from Devin Smeltzer, mystified Kansas
City while the Minnesota Twins scored 6 runs in an evening game at Kauffman
Stadium.
Kansas City fell behind quickly as the Minnesota offense came through in the
first inning scoring a single run on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded,
Luis Arraez lined a one-base hit. One out later, Kyle Schwarber came up and
he laced a base-hit. Jesse Winker then drew a walk to load the bases. Jorge
Alfaro stepped in and he slapped a base-hit scoring the run. That early
scoring was all that Marquez needed. Kansas City was out-hit by Minnesota,
15 hits to 6.
The loss was charged to Dylan Bundy(6-11). He pitched 5 innings and
surrendered 9 hits and 1 walk.

Second baseman Wilmer Flores had 3 base hits at Globe Life Park as the Detroit
Tigers pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Texas Rangers by the count
of 3 to 2.
Detroit had the winning rally in the top of the 9th inning plating 2 runs on 2
hits. After an out was recorded, Adalberto Mondesi jump-started the rally as
he doubled. Harold Castro was next and he tripled driving in a run. Mallex
Smith then hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. Detroit
finished with 11 hits in the victory.
The win went to Buck Farmer(2-1) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. The
losing pitcher was Carlos Martinez(4-5) in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and
no walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Detroit's manager was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your
last at bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out
there? You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey,
that's what makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says,
'it's not over 'til its over.'

Sean Newcomb was great in relief and recorded his 5th save.
