The red-hot Pittsburgh Pirates toppled the Philadelphia Phillies by a 7 to 3
score at Citizens Bank Park.
Zack Greinke(14-10) gave Pittsburgh a solid outing. He went 7 and 1/3 innings
surrendering 7 hits and 2 walks. Greinke struckout 9 Philadelphia batters
and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia each
finished the night with 7 hits.
Greinke got help from Matt Strahm who was credited with his 1st save. Trevor
Bauer(10-12) suffered the loss. Pittsburgh knocked him around a bit, as he
gave up 6 runs in 5 innings.
Pittsburgh continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 7 games and
counting.

Right fielder Adam Jones hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Houston Astros
outscored the Detroit Tigers 7 to 3.
Matt Grace(1-0) pitched good enough to get the victory in relief. He went 2
innings and surrended up 5 hits and no walks. Houston totaled 9 hits on the
night.
Grace got help from Cionel Perez who earned his 1st save. Buck Farmer(4-2)
was tagged with the loss in relief. He allowed 4 runs and 3 hits in 1
inning.

Jon Jay had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Kauffman Stadium as the Kansas City
Royals pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Toronto Blue Jays by the
count of 4 to 3.
Kansas City scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2
runs using 5 hits. After an out was recorded, Corey Dickerson jump-started
the rally as he doubled. Cam Gallagher stepped up to the plate and he
slapped a one-base hit driving in a run. Jarrod Dyson then stroked a single.
Jean Segura came up and he singled to load the bases. Elvis Andrus stepped
into the box and laced a base-hit giving Kansas City the victory as 18,409
happy fans celebrated wildly. Kansas City finished with 12 hits in the
victory.
Tanner Rainey(6-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Roberto Osuna(1-3) was the loser in relief.
'Wow, that was fun!', Rainey said following the game. 'Once in a while you
play a game that reminds you just why you got into this business to begin
with!'

Rougned Odor blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Globe Life Park as the Texas
Rangers beat the Colorado Rockies by the count of 4 to 3.
The Texas fans enjoyed the offense provided by Odor. He lifted one out of the
park for a two run home run in the 3rd inning and clubbed a solo home run in
the 7th inning. Despite losing, Colorado out-hit Texas 12 to 8.
Junior Guerra(4-2) went 4 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory.
Guerra was helped out by Jose Leclerc who recorded his 2nd save. The losing
pitcher was Mike Soroka(13-4). He allowed 6 hits and 1 walk in 6 and 1/3
innings.
With this win, Texas has a 47-84 record. They have been 7-3 lately. With the
loss Colorado now has a record of 86-47.

21,565 fans watched an exciting game at AT&T Park. The San Diego Padres
topped the hapless San Francisco Giants by the slimmest of margins, 4 to
3.
Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings. San Diego won it in the
10th inning. Fernando Tatis Jr drew a walk. Tatis Jr was running on the
next pitch and he stole second. Derek Dietrich struck out, unable to help
the rally. Eric Hosmer followed and he ripped a base-knock scoring the run.
San Diego managed 9 hits in their victory.
The victory was credited to Josh Tomlin(3-2) who went 2 and 1/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Sam Selman(1-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He
surrendered 1 run and 1 hit in 1 and 1/3 innings.

Joey Gallo launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Amir Garrett was strong in
relief for Tampa Bay as the indomitable Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Seattle
Mariners by a score of 11 to 8 at T-Mobile Park.
Gallo enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He smashed a two-run homer in the
7th inning and smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 9th inning. Tampa
Bay kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different
innings.
Bryse Wilson(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings. Garrett
recorded the save, his 1st. Sergio Romo(4-2) absorbed the loss in relief.
He was knocked around, surrendering 3 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.

The very talented St. Louis Cardinals bested the Cincinnati Reds by a 8 to 4
score at Great American Bpk.
Brandon Kintzler(6-2) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory. He
was reached for 2 hits and no walks in 1 and 2/3 innings. St. Louis had 10
hits for the night while Cincinnati had 4.
The losing pitcher was Justin Wilson(1-2) in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an
inning allowing 3 hits and no walks.
