went 7 strong innings as the phenomenal Tampa Bay Rays bested the New York
(AL) Yankees 5 to 2 at Yankee Stadium.

It was enough to earn the victory. Tampa Bay had 12 hits overall, while New
York (AL) had 5.

Shortstop Didi Gregorius hit 3 doubles and had 2 RBI as the powerful Seattle
Mariners defeated the lifeless Houston Astros by a score of 10 to 8 at Minute
Maid Park.
Seattle brought 6 runs across the plate in the 5th inning when they came up
with 3 base hits. The highlight belonged to Gregorius who deflated the crowd
as he doubled bringing home two baserunners. Seattle totaled 9 hits on the
afternoon.
The win went to Spencer Turnbull(14-3) who allowed 7 runs in 5 innings. Shane
Greene preserved the game for Turnbull, recording his his 21st save. Kyle
Gibson(5-13) was tagged with the loss. He had trouble throwing strikes and
issued 7 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.
'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Turnbull, 'I got burned
on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'

Zack Greinke(13-10) delivered a fine performance for Pittsburgh. He went 6

9 to 6.
Kirby Yates gained credit for his 35th save. Daniel Ponce De Leon(3-1) took
the loss. He allowed 6 hits and 1 walk in 5 innings.

Minor(8-13) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Texas batters. He allowed just 3 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings reducing his
ERA from 5.18 to 4.93. Baltimore had 12 hits for the night while Texas had
4.
Madison Bumgarner(10-15) absorbed the loss. Despite taking the loss, he
whiffed 10 batters in 6 innings.

Matt Chapman had 3 base hits as the Toronto Blue Jays won in dramatic fashion
over the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 5 to 4 at Rogers Centre.
Toronto came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning scoring 3 runs on 3 base hits. Anthony Santander got things rolling
when he lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'. Hunter Dozier got his turn next, but
he was a strikeout victim. Chapman then delivered a one-base hit. Wil Myers
stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Jordy Mercer came up to bat
and drew a walk bringing home one more runner. Stephen Vogt dug into the
batters box next, but he struck out. Bo Bichette was the next batter, but he
struck out. Danny Santana then lashed a single giving Toronto the victory as
47,050 happy fans celebrated wildly. Toronto had 8 hits for the night.
The victory was credited to Jason Adam(2-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Brandon Workman(3-2) was hit with the loss in relief.
Despite losing, he struckout 4 Toronto batters in 1 inning.
Toronto's manager was in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when
asked about his feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he
volunteered, 'I'll tell you this much - I know how my counterpart, St. Louis'
manager, feels right now - and it's not very good. It's terrible when you
come up on the short end of one of these!'

Gurriel had a big evening at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in
the 1st inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 5th inning. Miami had
only 6 hits for the night.
Paddack(8-12) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 7 innings. Casey
Sadler earned the save, his 17th. Robbie Ray(6-6) suffered the loss.

Josh Bell went yard and had 4 RBI and Will Harris went 3 innings for the
victory at SunTrust Park as the red-hot Atlanta Braves beat the Milwaukee
Brewers 11 to 4.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Bell. He ripped a base-hit which was good for two runs in the
6th inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 7th inning. Milwaukee was
out-hit by Atlanta, 12 hits to 5.
Patrick Corbin(13-7) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Corbin got
help from Harris who was credited with his 7th save. Chris Stratton(0-1) was
given the loss in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up 2 hits and
no walks.
Corbin was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'

was helped out by Mark Melancon who recorded his 10th save. Blake

The game was won by Los Angeles(AL) with a run in the 9th inning. After an
out was recorded, Mookie Betts doubled. After another out, Nicholas
Castellanos stepped in and he was walked intentionally. Kole Calhoun then
drew a walk to load the bases. Ryan McMahon followed and he laced a single
resulting in an exciting win for Los Angeles(AL) and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Los Angeles(AL) had 10 hits for the game
and New York (NL) had 6.
Zack Britton(2-1) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the victory. Robert

prevailed in the 10th inning. The crucial at-bat was provided by Mike
Freeman who quieted the home crowd when he delivered a one-base hit bringing
