Rougned Odor had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Texas Rangers came back to win one
over league door-mat Baltimore Orioles, 14 to 13.
Texas came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning plating 3 runs
on 5 hits. Nick Solak jump-started the scoring when he smashed a bases-empty
'big-fly'. Jose Trevino was next and he hit a single. Nick Williams then
doubled. Robbie Grossman got his chance to keep things going, but he went
down on strikes. Odor came up to bat and stroked a base-hit driving home
another two teammates. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home
town fans, as the lead kept changing - 6 times in all.
The winning pitcher was Keone Kela(4-4) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3
innings. Mychal Givens(3-5) was the loser in relief. By giving up 2 runs in
1 inning his ERA increased from 5.46 to 5.87.
'The only way this one could have been better', said Kela, 'was if we had
played it at home.'

Nick Goody went 3 solid innings at Yankee Stadium where the New York (AL)
Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays in 10 innings by the score of 7 to 6.
Both teams had scored 6 runs after nine full innings. Finally, New York (AL)
pulled the game out in the 10th inning. Joc Pederson drew a walk. Kevin
Newman next to the plate and he laced a one-base hit. Andrew McCutchen then
ripped a base-hit to load the bases. Aristides Aquino stepped in and he
lined a base-hit making New York (AL) the victors to the delight of the home
town faithful. New York (AL) ended up with 17 hits for the game while Tampa
Bay had 10.
The win was credited to Goody(7-5) who went 3 innings allowing no runs. Trevor
Gott(3-1) took the loss in relief. He allowed 5 hits and 1 walk in 1 inning.

In a lop-sided win the incredible Atlanta Braves ripped the Milwaukee Brewers
by a 8 to 1 count.
Michael Pineda(9-9) was solid in the win. He gave up just 6 hits and 1 walk
in 8 innings. Pineda struckout 9 Milwaukee batters. Atlanta had 9 hits for
the night while Milwaukee had 6.
Yonny Chirinos(8-14) absorbed the loss. He allowed 7 runs and 8 hits in 7
innings.

Chicago (NL) jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they scored
2 runs on 2 hits. The key at-bat was by Renato Nunez who brought a roar from
the partisan Wrigley Field fans when he slapped a single plating two runs.
Chicago (NL) rapped out 8 hits for the night.
Neil Ramirez(3-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Brandon Woodruff(9-10) ended up with the loss. Chicago (NL) scored big
getting 7 runs off him in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Melky Cabrera hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI at Minute Maid Park where
the Houston Astros beat the Seattle Mariners in 10 innings 5 to 3.
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Houston won the hard fought
contest in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Brian Dozier began
the Houston spurt when he singled. Joakim Soria then unleashed a wild pitch.
Yordan Alvarez then clubbed a two-run home run giving Houston the victory as
35,378 happy fans celebrated wildly. Neither team was able to score until
the 7th inning.
The win went to Sean Newcomb(2-2) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Soria(7-1) was charged with the loss in relief. 'We really needed this win'
said Houston's manager. 'That first drink of water at the end of a drought
sure does taste good!'

surrendering 8 hits and 1 walk. Giolito chalked up 9 strikeouts. Washington
managed 8 hits in their victory.

The Arizona Diamondbacks readily handled Kansas City Royals by a score of 6 to

Arizona came up with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Charlie Blackmon
led off and he tripled. Two outs later Mike Moustakas came to bat and
cleared the fences for a two-run home run. That early run support was enough
for Drew Pomeranz(4-1) and Arizona. Arizona finished with 11 hits in the
victory.
Joe Ross(1-9) was the loser. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 5
runs in 4 innings.

At RingCentral Coliseum, the Oakland fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Tanner Roark(9-5) finally bested his Oakland opposite, Jake Odorizzi(11-5),
by the score of 4 to 0.
In the top of the 5th inning Cleveland went on top for good plating an
isolated run. Cleveland and Oakland each finished the night with 6 hits.
Odorizzi was charged with the loss. With this win, Cleveland has a division
leading 68-56 record. They have been 5-5 lately. With the loss, Oakland has
a record of 6-4 lately, 83-42 overall.
