Third baseman Eugenio Suarez lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI
as the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Chicago (NL) Cubs by the score of 7 to 2
at Wrigley Field.
Suarez had a big day at the plate. He doubled plating a run in the 1st
inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 3rd inning and popped a two-run clout
over the fence in the 7th inning. Tampa Bay had a total of 8 hits for the
game.
Nick Anderson(3-7) was the winner allowing no runs in 3 innings. Jacob
Barnes(1-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He was not very effective,

The Toronto Blue Jays nipped the New York (AL) Yankees in 11 innings 5 to 4 at
Rogers Centre in a hard fought contest.
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Toronto came out on top
in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Bo Bichette stroked a single.
Danny Santana stepped up next and he hit a single. Anthony Rizzo then lined
a base-hit to load the bases. Anthony Santander followed and he laced a
base-knock giving Toronto the victory and sending the 40,887 home-town fans
home happy. Both teams totaled 12 hits on the night.
The win went to Tim Mayza(3-3) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. The losing
pitcher was Jonathan Loaisiga(1-5) in relief. He pitched 2 and 1/3 innings

one-base hit. One out later, Josh Bell got his chance to keep things going,
but he went down on strikes. George Springer then singled making Atlanta the
winners and sending the 38,708 fans home happy. Atlanta had 10 hits for the

4 walks in 8 innings. St. Louis dominated offensively as they scored in 6
different innings.
Yonny Chirinos(6-11) was charged with the loss. He was touched for 10 hits
and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Alcantara was pleased with his
performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my
location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always
helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'
