RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals topped the reeling Milwaukee Brewers by a
score of 11 to 3 at Miller Park.
Flaherty(9-5) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 4 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings. St. Louis had 13 hits
for the game and Milwaukee had 4.
Luke Weaver(6-8) was given the loss. He gave up 7 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings
of work. Flaherty didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up.
When told he had 10 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that
I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say, that's
pretty good, isn't it?'

much, just 1 hit and no walks in 1 inning. Melancon got help from Zac
Rosscup who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 1st save.
Robert Stephenson(1-3) suffered the loss in relief. He was a hard-luck loser
as he did not allow an earned run in his 2 innings of work.

Scott Kingery knocked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Miami Marlins outscored
the lifeless New York (NL) Mets 9 to 5.
Kingery was in a groove all evening. The New York (NL) fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box. He laced a base-hit in the 1st inning, rifled
a three-run blast in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and popped a
two-run clout over the fence in the 8th inning. Miami had 16 hits for the
night while New York (NL) had 10.
The victory was credited to J.D. Hammer(4-1) who went 1/3 of an inning,
allowing no runs. Daniel Stumpf(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.
Kingery said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate
tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple
pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'

anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 14 to
10.
Atlanta was unable to overcome the big offensive rally by Cincinnati in the
9th inning when they exploded for 8 runs on 4 hits. The big moment was
provided by Carlos Correa who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd
when he blasted a Grand Slam homerun. Atlanta scored in 6 different innings,
but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.
Liam Hendriks(6-7) was the winner allowing 1 run in 1 and 1/3 innings. Alex
Colome(5-4) ended up with the loss in relief. He served up 4 homeruns in his
1 and 1/3 innings.
Atlanta's manager was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm
not in the mood for questions, but I'm sure Cincinnati's manager will be glad
to talk about the game as long as you have questions to ask.'

Dodgers......... 0 0 5 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 - 7 12 2

eventually emerged as victors over the Seattle Mariners by the score of 2 to
0.
Seattle found themselves trailing quickly as the Los Angeles(AL) bats came
through in the first inning plating one baserunner. That early run support
