43,991 fans watched an exciting game at Yankee Stadium. The New York (AL)
Yankees topped the Boston Red Sox by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.
New York (AL) erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning plating 2
runs using 3 hits. After two were out Aaron Judge started the attack as he
laced a base-hit. Gary Sanchez was next and he hit a single. Brandon Belt
then doubled knocking home two runners. This was the kind of game that many
fans love as the lead changed hands 5 times.
Jonathan Holder(2-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an
inning. Holder got relief help from Richard Bleier who gained credit for his
6th save. John Gant(3-2) took the loss in relief.

Nelson Cruz smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Cole Irvin had an impressive
outing as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of 5 to 4
at Tropicana Field.
The Tampa Bay fans didn't appreciate the big day Cruz had. He popped a
two-run clout over the fence in the 6th inning and cracked a two-run shot in
the 8th inning. The Tampa Bay batters went down meekly in the bottom of the
9th.
Irvin(3-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 5 innings. Chad Green was
credited with his 11th save. Nick Anderson(4-8) was the losing pitcher in
relief. He pitched 2 innings and surrendered 1 hit and no walks.

Park where the powerful Arizona Diamondbacks beat the ice-cold San Francisco

Arizona went ahead for good in the top of the 2nd inning plating one
baserunner utilizing 3 base hits. That early scoring held up. After the 3rd
inning, neither team was able to score.
The win was credited to Sanchez(8-4) who went 7 innings allowing no runs.
Sanchez got help from Carlos Martinez who earned his 1st save. Shaun
Anderson(3-8) suffered the loss.

the 11th inning. Cavan Biggio cracked a solo homerun. Overall Toronto
out-hit Seattle 16 to 7.

inning. Roberto Osuna gained credit for his 17th save. The loss was charged

Diaz enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He ripped a solo home run in the
1st inning, singled plating a run in the 4th inning and hit a bases-empty
home run in the 6th inning. New York (NL) was not lacking for run support as
they scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they seemed to
forget that pitching is also needed to win ballgames.
The win went to Collin McHugh(2-4) who allowed 3 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.
The losing pitcher was Wade Miley(2-10). He allowed 3 homeruns in 3 and 2/3
innings of work.
The Philadelphia ballclub's record now stands at 41-64. New York (NL) can't
seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 1-9
record over the last couple weeks.

Los Angeles(AL) jumped on top of Texas in the top of the 4th inning with 3

Angeles(AL) when he doubled. After an out was recorded, David Fletcher came

Zunino then stroked a base-hit bringing in another run. Ronald Acuna was up

Jurado(2-13) took the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 7
runs in 5 innings.
First baseman Edwin Encarnacion blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI but it wasn't
enough for Texas.

fine pitching duel at Busch Stadium. The streaking St. Louis Cardinals
eventually emerged as victors over the Chicago (NL) Cubs by the score of 3 to

St. Louis started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring 2 runners on 2 hits. That early run support was all that
Flaherty required. St. Louis managed only 6 hits on the night.
Brandon Workman recorded the save, his 26th. St. Louis continued their
winning ways, with their streak now at 9 games and counting. 'We've really
come alive lately,' St. Louis' manager said. 'We won some tough games and I
feel real good about this ballclub right now, and hopefully we'll continue
the roll we're on.'

Hansel Robles recorded his 25th save. Richard Rodriguez(1-4) was the loser
in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 1 hit without retiring a batter.
'I had my good stuff tonight.' Gray said. 'As the game went along I started to
get the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of hitters.'

In a great finish the Cleveland Indians came back in the top of the ninth and
held on to win over the Houston Astros by a score of 4 to 3 at Minute Maid
Park.
Cleveland came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Kris Bryant led off and he drew a
walk. Max Muncy stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. After an out
was recorded, Matt Adams then laced a base-hit to load the bases. Grayson
Greiner stepped in and he laced a base-knock driving in two more baserunners.
Cleveland finished with just 6 hits in the victory.
The victory was credited to Jarlin Garcia(2-1) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Evan Marshall gained credit for his 8th save. Josh James(1-3) was the
loser in relief. By surrending 2 runs without retiring a batter his ERA
jumped from 4.79 to 5.66.
'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' James Karinchak said. 'If
