locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.
Giovanny Gallegos recorded the save, his 10th. Madison Bumgarner(10-12) was

Freddie Freeman slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Target Field where the
Minnesota Twins beat the Toronto Blue Jays by the score of 9 to 6.
Freeman had a big day at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in
the 3rd inning and belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning. For the game
Minnesota out-hit Toronto 13 to 6.
The winning pitcher was Sean Doolittle(1-3) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3
innings. Daniel Mengden preserved the game for Doolittle, recording his his
2nd save. Marcus Stroman(7-8) was hit with the loss. He was unable to
control the Minnesota offense and allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.
With this win, Minnesota has a 50-47 record. They have been 5-5 lately. With
the loss, the Toronto ballclub's record is 57-39.

Narvaez jacked one out of the ballyard at Guaranteed Rate Fld as the Chicago
(AL) White Sox beat the Arizona Diamondbacks by the count of 9 to
6.
Rodon(1-0) had a strong outing. He didn't allow much, just 2 hits and 2 walks
in 7 innings. Arizona had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Rodon was helped out by Aaron Bummer who recorded his 6th save. Tyler
Chatwood(4-5) ended up with the loss. Rodon was pleased with his
performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my
location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always
helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'

Both teams were tied at 8 runs apiece after nine innings. Baltimore ended up
winning it in the 10th inning. Shin-Soo Choo hit a bases-empty home run.
Boston went down quietly in the bottom of the 10th.
Mychal Givens(3-3) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 1 inning. Chaz
Roe gained credit for his 2nd save. The losing pitcher was Andrew
Miller(1-2) in relief.
'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said
Baltimore's manager, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'

At Minute Maid Park, the Houston faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel. Tyler Alexander(1-2) finally bested his Houston counterpart,
Trevor Cahill(2-11), by the score of 2 to 1.
Detroit had 2 runs cross the plate in the top of the 2nd inning. That early
scoring held up. After the 2nd inning, neither team was able to score.
Alexander got help from Chad Green who was credited with his 9th save. Cahill
took the loss. He pitched 4 innings and surrendered 2 hits and 2 walks.

Michael Conforto launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds

The game was deadlocked at 7 after nine full innings. Finally, Cincinnati
prevailed in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Bryce Harper
started the rally when he doubled. Will Smith was next and he was hit by a
pitch. One out later, Jonathan Villar then slapped a one-base hit, and an
error was also committed, giving Cincinnati the victory and sending the
40,444 home-town fans home happy. Cincinnati managed 13 hits in their
victory.
The win went to Andrew Kittredge(4-2) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning.

St. Louis took the lead for keeps in the top of the 2nd inning when they came
up with 2 runs on 2 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. St.
Louis had 12 hits for the afternoon.
Noah Syndergaard(9-6) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 8 innings allowing 9
hits and 4 walks.

innings as the Colorado Rockies defeated the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of

Colorado claimed the early lead in the first inning when they tallied 3 runs
on 2 hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Soroka(9-2) and
Colorado. That was all the run support Soroka required. Milwaukee was
out-hit by Colorado, 11 hits to 6.
Freddy Peralta(0-3) took the loss. He gave up 5 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings of
work. Wth the win Colorado now has a record of 60-35. Milwaukee has a

First baseman Max Stassi touched them all and had 4 RBI as the Washington
Nationals were badly beaten by the Philadelphia Phillies, 13 to 3.
The Washington fans didn't appreciate the big day Stassi had. He singled in
the 6th inning, lofted a three-run bomb in the 7th inning and doubled which
scored a run in the 9th inning. Philadelphia had many opportunities
throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.
Caleb Smith(1-3) allowed 3 runs in 5 innings, and picked up the victory. Smith
got relief help from Julio Urias who gained credit for his 5th save. Alex
Young(1-2) took the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 3 innings.
The Philadelphia ballclub's record now stands at 37-58. Washington continued
their losing ways and their record is now 30-66, worst in the division. They
are 2-8 in their last ten games.

Angeles(AL) Angels 8 to 7 at Angel Stadium in a hard fought contest.

The key offensive moment was provided by Garrett Stubbs who deflated the mood
of the partisan fans when he lined a one-base hit scoring two baserunners.
Los Angeles(AL) threatened in the 9th but Los Angeles(NL) was able to put
down the rally.
The victory was credited to Yoan Lopez(5-2) who went 2 and 1/3 innings,
