20,039 fans watched an exciting game at Camden Yards. The Baltimore Orioles
finally stopped their 7 slide with the victory and topped the New York (AL)
Yankees by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
Baltimore set the tone of the game in the first inning plating one baserunner.
New York (AL) tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
The victory was credited to Mike Minor(7-8) who went 7 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Richard Rodriguez gained credit for his 2nd save. Masahiro
Tanaka(3-8) took the loss. He allowed just 3 runs and 5 hits in 8 innings.
When questioned, Baltimore's manager remarked, 'It's been a while since a win
felt this good - heck, it's been a while since we had a win period!'

Yadier Molina slammed a homerun at Citizens Bank Park where the San Diego
Padres beat the Philadelphia Phillies 9 to 8.
Obviously without his best stuff, Jake Arrieta(5-7) still hung on to pick up
the win. He gave up 7 hits and 4 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Arrieta
whiffed an impressive total of 8 Philadelphia batters and allowed 3 gopher
balls. Philadelphia threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Arrieta got relief help from Matt Magill who gained credit for his 4th save.
Collin McHugh(1-4) was the losing pitcher in relief. He was knocked around,
surrendering 5 runs in 2 innings.
Philadelphia's manager was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this
one, we just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple
more white hairs on this noggin of mine.'

Park.
Colorado fell behind quickly as the Pittsburgh offense came through in the
first inning scoring one runner on 2 base hits. Both teams ended up with 6
hits on the night.
Zack Greinke(8-6) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. Greinke
got help from Kirby Yates who was credited with his 22nd save. Mike
Soroka(8-1) was given the loss. It was a tough loss for him as he did not
allow an earned run in his 6 innings of work.

Toronto when he lined a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Hunter
Dozier stepped in and he bombed a two-run dinger. Toronto out-hit Chicago
(AL) for the game, 8 hits to 5.
Tyler Duffey(3-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings.
Roberto Osuna earned his 13th save. Mike Leake(5-6) was the loser. He

doubled. After an out was recorded, Brandon Lowe came to the plate and
popped a two-run clout over the fence. Arizona had 11 hits for the night
while Kansas City had 8.

Chapman recorded his 18th save. The loss was charged to Hector Neris(0-4) in

Kansas City's manager was understandably not very talkative after his team's
tough loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game
had a terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker
