In a dramatic ending at Camden Yards the Baltimore Orioles won in their last
at-bat beating the Tampa Bay Rays by the count of 5 to 4.
The game was won by Baltimore with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
Miguel Cabrera laced a one-base hit. Steve Wilkerson next to the plate and
he doubled. Chance Sisco then banged out a single giving Baltimore the win
as 29,803 happy fans joyfully celebrated. For the game Baltimore out-hit
Tampa Bay 9 to 6.
Chad Sobotka(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Nick
Anderson(2-7) was hit with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning allowing
3 hits and no walks.

Atlanta jumped on top to stay in the 4th inning scoring a single run. Atlanta
out-hit Washington for the game, 9 hits to 5.
The win was credited to Hendricks(8-4) who went 8 innings allowing no runs.
Tony Sipp recorded the save, his 1st. Jefry Rodriguez(0-1) suffered the
loss.
This win by Atlanta continues their recent hot streak. In their last ten
games, they have a record of 8-2. For the season, they are a division
leading 50-27. Washington continued their losing ways and their record is

in the 9th.
Kirby Yates was credited with his 18th save. Trent Thornton(7-2) absorbed the
loss. Pittsburgh's manager was asked about the performance of Scherzer, 'He
had his good stuff out there this afternoon. The fans really get into it
when the strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to give him even more

Fernando Tatis Jr cracked 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Coors Field as the San
Diego Padres beat the Colorado Rockies 11 to 3.
Tatis Jr was unconscious out there. While Colorado pitching was serving
softballs up there for him to hit, the Colorado fans were serving up some
hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel
for the fire. He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st inning, popped a two-run
clout over the fence in the 3rd inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in
the 5th inning. The San Diego offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9
innings.
The victory was credited to Matt Wisler(4-4) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. J.A. Happ(5-6) absorbed the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 6 hits and
3 walks in 2 innings.

just was 'on' this afternoon. He was keeping our guys off balance all game.
A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun game for the
hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'

hits. The big moment was provided by Christian Yelich who brought a roar
from the partisan T-Mobile Park fans when he rifled a three-run blast. Both
teams finished the game with 10 hits.
Sergio Romo(3-0) went 3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Romo was helped
out by Shane Greene who recorded his 13th save. Hector Rondon(5-2) was
tagged with the loss in relief. He gave up 2 hits and 1 walk without
retiring a batter.

Third baseman Gio Urshela had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at RingCentral Coliseum as
the Oakland Athletics beat the slumping Houston Astros 6 to 3.
Oakland came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 8th
inning when they tallied 4 runs on 3 hits. The biggest moment was provided
by Nick Ahmed who electrified RingCentral Coliseum when he delivered a
base-hit scoring two baserunners. Oakland and Houston each finished the
afternoon with 7 hits.
The win went to Andrew Chafin(3-1) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Ian Kennedy recorded his 18th save. Darwinzon Hernandez(0-6) was charged
with the loss in relief.
No one has been able to stop Oakland lately as they lengthened their winning
streak to 6 games. Houston's manager was very irritated after the contest.
