New York (AL) drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first
inning scoring 2 runners on 2 hits. That early run support was all that
Pena(3-3) required. New York (AL) had 13 hits for the game and Boston had 5.

One run was the difference at Citi Field as the New York (NL) Mets were
certainly pleased to stop the bleeding as their 6 game losing streak was
finally halted and defeated the Washington Nationals in 10 innings 3 to
2.
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. New York (NL) won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, David Dahl
drew a walk. Pete Alonso followed, but he was set down on strikes. Yasiel
Puig then banged out a single. Puig took second on the throw. Kyle Seager
was up next and he was walked intentionally to load the bases. Jason Heyward
stepped into the box and lined a one-base hit giving New York (NL) the
victory and sending the 41,940 home-town fans home happy. Both teams
finished the game with 9 hits.
Robert Gsellman(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 1/3 of an inning and
allowing no runs. Jalen Beeks(5-4) ended up with the loss in relief.
'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Gsellman said. 'It's great to be back on
the winning side of things.'

on 3 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Randal Grichuk who elicited
a roar from the hometown fans when he ripped a single plating two runs.

In an exciting finish the Tampa Bay Rays pulled out a win over the Baltimore
Orioles by a score of 5 to 4 at Tropicana Field.
Tampa Bay won the game with a run in the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Eugenio Suarez drew a walk. Suarez got a good lead and stole
second. Rhys Hoskins then slapped a single. One out later, Aaron Hicks came
up and he drew a walk to load the bases. Victor Caratini came to the plate
and drew a walk giving Tampa Bay the win as 19,759 happy fans joyfully
celebrated. Overall Tampa Bay out-hit Baltimore 10 to 7.
The victory was credited to Nick Anderson(2-6) who went 1 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Paul Fry(2-2) absorbed the loss in relief.

their victory.
Hector Rondon(5-1) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Hector
Neris earned the save, his 14th. The losing pitcher was Marco Gonzales(8-5).

The game started off with Chicago (AL) taking the lead in the first when they
tallied 3 runs on 3 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Mancini who
silenced Minute Maid Park as he blasted a two-run home run. For the game
Chicago (AL) out-hit Houston 13 to 6.
The victory went to Dylan Cease(5-4) who went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs.
Trevor Cahill(2-8) suffered the loss. He gave up 6 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings
of work.
Wth the win Chicago (AL) now has a record of 34-36. Houston's manager was
unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he
said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'

Martinez was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He delivered a solo blast in the 1st

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Arizona came out on
top in the 13th inning. Garrett Hampson led off and started the attack as he
drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Bradley Jr got a great jump and
stole second easily. Brandon Lowe then stroked a one-base hit. Robbie
Grossman followed and he drew a walk to load the bases. After another out,
Colten Brewer then unleashed a wild pitch knocking in a run. C.J. Cron kept
the rally going and was walked intentionally to load the bases. J.T. Riddle
came to the plate and drew a walk scoring the final run of the inning.
Arizona finished with 11 hits while San Diego ended up with 7.
Steve Cishek(2-0) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Cishek
got relief help from Colin Poche who gained credit for his 3rd save. Cody

Yastrzemski punished Miami with his bat. He laced a base-hit which plated a
run in the 1st inning, smacked a three-run homer in the 5th inning and lofted
a three-run 'big-fly' in the 7th inning. San Francisco finished with 12 hits
in the victory.
Shaun Anderson(3-4) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Domingo
German(5-4) was the loser. San Francisco knocked him around a bit, as he
gave up 8 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Yastrzemski was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting
the ball real well now. I made some adjustments last week and they are
paying off. That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season
goes along.'

Stephen Strasburg mowed down 12 Pittsburgh batters and Matt Olson knocked 2

Olson was in a groove all evening. He doubled bringing in two baserunners in
the 1st inning, doubled in the 5th inning, smashed a solo-shot out of the
park in the 7th inning and blasted a solo shot in the 8th inning. Colorado
had 11 hits for the night while Pittsburgh had 2.
Strasburg(9-0) allowed 1 run in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. Trevor
Williams(3-9) was the losing pitcher. Pittsburgh's manager was upset after
the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike
zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way
it's printed in the rule book.'
