Tyler Mahle came through with a solid 7 innings as the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers
defeated the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 3 to 2 at Great American
Bpk.
Mahle(9-2) was solid in the win. He didn't allow much, just 3 hits and no
walks in 7 innings. Cincinnati had a chance in the 9th but they came up
short.
Fernando Rodney recorded the save, his 5th. Luis Castillo(3-5) was hit with
the loss. He allowed 5 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.

Cavan Biggio slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the
Seattle Mariners by a score of 3 to 2.
Toronto did all of it's offensive work in the 8th inning plating 3 runs on 4
base hits. After an out was recorded, Wil Myers initiated the scoring spurt
when he doubled. Anthony Santander followed next and he delivered a one-base
hit driving in a run. Stephen Vogt then doubled. Biggio stepped in and he
popped a two-run clout over the fence. Toronto took care of Seattle with no
trouble in the 9th.
Javy Guerra(3-4) went 4 innings allowing no runs for the win. Roberto Osuna
earned the save, his 9th. Yusmeiro Petit(1-5) absorbed the loss in relief.
He pitched 1/3 of an inning and surrendered 3 hits and no walks.

J.T. Riddle knocked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Coors Field as the Arizona
Diamondbacks beat the Colorado Rockies in 12 innings 9 to 8.
The score was tied at 5 after nine. Arizona won the game in the 12th inning.
Freddy Galvis laced a one-base hit. Ryne Stanek then picked Galvis off first
base. Yuli Gurriel then laced a single. Jackie Bradley Jr was up next and
he lashed a single. Drew Verhagen then let one get away for a wild pitch.
Brandon Lowe added his contribution to the rally and was walked intentionally
to load the bases. Garrett Hampson stepped up next and he drew a walk
scoring the run. The Colorado offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the
12th.
The victory was credited to Aroldis Chapman(3-3) who went 4 innings, allowing
3 runs. Colin Poche preserved the game for Chapman, recording his his 2nd
save. Stanek(1-1) was given the loss in relief. He gave up 1 run and 3 hits
in 1/3 of an inning.
Wth the win Arizona now has a record of 44-24. With the loss Colorado now has
a record of 46-22.

Anthony Rendon had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the San
Francisco Giants by the score of 9 to 1 at AT&T Park.
Rendon had a big day against San Francisco. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'
in the 1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning, lined a one-base hit in the 4th
inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 6th inning. For the
game Pittsburgh out-hit San Francisco 10 to 6.
The win was credited to Andrew Heaney(4-0) who went 7 innings allowing 1 run.
The loss was charged to Zach Eflin(6-7). He served up 5 homeruns in his 5
innings.

In a good matchup it was the Baltimore Orioles 7, the Minnesota Twins 5 at
Camden Yards.
In the bottom of the 6th inning Baltimore scored 5 runs when they had 5 base
hits. The biggest moment was provided by Marcell Ozuna who made the crowd
happy when he belted a three-run homer. Baltimore banged out 10 hits on the
night.
Jimmy Yacabonis(2-0) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Yacabonis got relief help from Paul Fry who gained credit for his 1st save.
Devin Smeltzer(1-1) suffered the loss in relief.
KANSAS CITY AT NEW YORK (AL)

could do no damage in the 9th.
King was helped out by Giovanny Gallegos who recorded his 6th save. The
losing pitcher was Tim Hill(3-1) in relief. He pitched 2 and 1/3 innings

Michael Pineda whiffed 12 batters as the Atlanta Braves bested the Washington
Nationals 2 to 1 at SunTrust Park.
Pineda(4-6) gave a fine effort for Atlanta. He surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk
in 7 innings lowering his ERA to 4.12. Washington had a chance to come back
in the 9th but they came up short.
Alex Colome recorded his 13th save. Reynaldo Lopez(3-7) took the loss. He
allowed 2 runs and 7 hits in 6 and 1/3 innings. The Atlanta fans were
thrilled by the performance put forth by Pineda, but it was clearly his
strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans
showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Atlanta's manager said
following the game.

The Houston Astros were able to stop their 6 game losing streak and defeated
the Texas Rangers by a score of 4 to 1 at Minute Maid Park.
Houston erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning
with 3 runs utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Yordan Alvarez
started the scoring when he smashed a solo-shot out of the park. J.D. Davis
followed, but he was set down on strikes. Jason Castro then doubled.
Teoscar Hernandez followed and he was walked intentionally. Addison Russell
came up to bat and doubled which accounted for two additional runs. Houston
had 9 hits for the night.
Michel Baez(5-2) allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Baez got help from Josh James who was credited with his 9th save.
Junior Guerra(2-1) suffered the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 runs and 4
hits in 1 and 1/3 innings.
'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said Houston's
manager, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'

Detroit Tigers broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 8 to 7
win over the Oakland Athletics and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.
The deciding run was scored by Detroit in the 9th. Niko Goodrum hit a single.
Nelson Cruz followed next and he slapped a base-hit. James McCann then
ripped a one-base hit giving Detroit the win and sending the home town fans
into a frenzy. Detroit managed 12 hits in their victory.
The winning pitcher was Luis Cessa(5-6) who allowed no runs in 3 and 1/3
innings. Ian Kennedy(2-1) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning
giving up 3 hits and 1 walk.
