solo homerun. Arizona had just 2 hits for the night.
Aroldis Chapman(4-5) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Ryan Pressly(3-2) suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 1 hit and

Third baseman Kevin Newman rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Camden Yards
where the red-hot New York (AL) Yankees beat the slumping Baltimore Orioles
by the score of 15 to 10.
Newman had a big day against Baltimore. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in
the 2nd inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 4th inning and delivered a
one-base hit in the 9th inning. New York (AL) lit up the scoreboard in the
1st inning which saw them score 3 runs on 3 hits and the 4th inning with 3
runs. The New York (AL) offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.
Giovanny Gallegos(1-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. David
Hess(4-8) ended up with the loss. He served up 4 homeruns in his 3 and 1/3

MILWAUKEE AT CHICAGO (NL)

Homeruns- A.Diaz(13th), A.Duvall(19th), R.Quinn(6th), T.D'Arnaud(7th),
R.Rodriguez(4th)
Catcher Travis D'Arnaud blasted a homerun and had 4 RBI at Wrigley Field as
the Chicago (NL) Cubs beat the floundering Milwaukee Brewers by the count of
9 to 6.
Milwaukee found themselves trailing quickly as the Chicago (NL) bats came
through in the first inning scoring 4 runners on 3 hits. The biggest moment
was provided by David Bote who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he
laced a single bringing in two baserunners. Due to a poorly pitched
ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still not enough for Milwaukee
to come away with the victory.
The win was credited to Merrill Kelly(5-6) who went 6 innings allowing 4 runs.
Chris Martin was credited with his 4th save. Tim Melville(1-3) was hit with
the loss.
'Ahhh, how sweet it is,' Chicago (NL)'s manager sighed. 'That win feels like
a tall, cool drink of water after spending far too much time in the desert
lately.'
ATLANTA AT TEXAS
Braves.......... 0 6 0 0 1 7 0 0 2 - 16 18 1
Rangers......... 1 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 3 10 2
Win:Morton(6-4) Loss:Porcello(6-10)
Homeruns- M.Semien(25th), C.Vazquez(15th), B.Miller(4th)
Charlie Morton struck out 14 batters and Marcus Semien had 4 hits and 2 RBI as
the Atlanta Braves clobbered the outmatched ice-cold Texas Rangers, 16 to
3.
The Texas fans didn't appreciate the big day Semien had. He lifted one out of
the park for a two run home run in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 5th inning,
stroked a base-hit in the 6th inning and doubled in the 9th inning. Atlanta
provided plenty of action in the 2nd inning when they had 6 runs on 5 hits
and the 6th inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 6 hits. Atlanta finished
with 18 hits while Texas ended up with 10.
Morton(6-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Rick Porcello(6-10) was charged with the loss. 'I had my
good stuff tonight.' Morton said. 'As the game went along I started to get
the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of hitters.'

Young(1-1) gave a fine effort for Washington. He went 6 innings and surrended
up 3 hits and 2 walks lowering his ERA from 4.61 to 3.66. The left-handed
Young lost a no-hitter when Trea Turner singled with nobody out in the 6th
inning. Washington had 6 hits overall, while St. Louis had 3.
Young got help from Josh Hader who was credited with his 16th save. Gerrit
Cole(8-5) was given the loss. Although losing the contest, he whiffed 16

Homeruns- M.Conforto(20th), C.Correa(15th)
Michael Conforto had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Los
Angeles(NL) Dodgers by a score of 7 to 3 at Dodger Stadium.
Conforto was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He doubled in the 1st inning, doubled
knocking in a run in the 4th inning, ripped a single in the 8th inning and
popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 9th inning. Cincinnati had 11
hits for the night.
The victory was credited to Andrew Kittredge(3-2) who went 1 inning, allowing
1 run. Jordan Zimmermann(2-7) was charged with the loss. He surrendered 3

Jacob Degrom whiffed 13 batters as the Seattle Mariners bested the Boston Red
Sox 6 to 1 at Fenway Park.
Degrom(11-5) was very good in the win. He surrendered only 8 hits and no
walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.88 to 3.68. Seattle totaled 11
hits on the night.
The losing pitcher was Tyson Ross(1-1). He was hit hard and gave up 6 hits
and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. 'He was really impressive tonight,' Ross
said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.'

Homeruns- J.Davis(18th), T.Hernandez(20th)
Third baseman J.D. Davis jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI and
Dominic Leone went 4 and one third solid innings as the Houston Astros beat
the Cleveland Indians by a score of 10 to 8.
Houston had 5 runs cross the plate in the top of the 4th inning when they had
5 base hits. The big moment was provided by Teoscar Hernandez who silenced
the crowd when he lofted a three-run 'big-fly'. Cleveland threatened in the
9th but Houston was able to put down the rally.
The win was credited to Leone(1-0) who went 4 and 1/3 innings allowing no
runs. Leone was helped out by Josh James who recorded his 10th save. Adam
Plutko(0-4) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around pretty good,
giving up 6 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.

Designated hitter David Freese blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the
indomitable Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Los Angeles(AL) Angels by a score of
7 to 2 at Tropicana Field.
The Tampa Bay fans enjoyed the offense provided by Freese. He smashed a
solo-shot out of the park in the 2nd inning and smashed a two-run homer in
the 8th inning. Tampa Bay had 8 hits overall, while Los Angeles(AL) had 4.
The win went to Noah Syndergaard(9-4) who allowed 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Syndergaard was helped out by Nick Anderson who recorded his 7th save. Max
Fried(5-5) was the loser. He gave up 5 hits and 3 walks in 4 and 1/3
innings.

outing as the phenomenal Oakland Athletics outscored the Miami Marlins 3 to

In the bottom of the 2nd inning Oakland scored 2 runs when they came up with 4
base hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Foltynewicz(7-2) and
Oakland. That was all the run support Foltynewicz required. Oakland out-hit
Miami for the game, 10 hits to 4.
Ian Kennedy earned his 20th save. Pablo Lopez(4-6) was the loser. Although
losing the contest, he whiffed 7 batters in 4 innings.
